Run Lola Run

Thumbs up.  German film with subtitles.  Did not expect much from
this film, but was pleasantly surprised.  About a young couple
who fuck up in a major way and get several chances to get things
right.  During each chance, you get to see subtle differences
in the way that the situation is dealt with and how that ripples
through to affect others.  Excellent pacing and continuous
tension/action (on a dramatic level; there is no kung fu in this).
Good driving eurobeat/techo soundtrack (people that are not into
that music genre will be bummed since the music dominates the entire
film and cannot be ignored).  Music works well with the film's
visual intensity and emotional tension, since the music is intense
and driving.  The music and fashions are surprisingly 80s :). People
that like to see something different in film should check this out;
playing at the State Theater (downtown Ann Arbor) this week.
